Arrhenius ranked 42nd most powerful system in the world

Certificate of TOP500 ranking for Arrhenius

TOP500 has revealed its updated list of the world’s most powerful computer systems. Our new supercomputer Arrhenius is ranked #42!

“This is an important milestone for us and we are delighted with how smooth the installation went, thanks to great team efforts from Hewlett Packard Enterprise, EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) and NAISS – in particular our Deputy Technical Director Gert Svensson coordinating the whole project,” says NAISS Director Erik Lindahl.

On the separate Green500 list, which ranks systems according to how much computational performance they deliver on the HPL (High-Performance Linpack) benchmark per Watt of electrical power consumed, Arrhenius scores even higher and comes in at 24th place.

The fastest supercomputer overall is the Chinese LineShine system, while the exascale JUPITER system in Germany is the most powerful EuroHPC JU system at place #5.
