NAISS Large received 75 proposals. That is up from 46 in spring 2026 and 52 in fall 2025, making it the largest round since compute and storage were merged into a single Large call.

Arrhenius GPU is the most contested resource: the time requested is about three times what is available. Arrhenius CPU is oversubscribed by around 50 percent, disk storage by more than twice capacity, and flash storage by almost 20 percent. Requests for the sensitive data resources (Arrhenius SENS) stayed within capacity.

LUMI Sweden received 27 proposals, more than double last year’s 11 and the highest number since the round started in 2021. Applicants requested about three times the available LUMI-C capacity and twice the available LUMI-G capacity. Storage requests came to about two-thirds of what is available.

“We are happy to register such a high demand for our resources. This proves the importance of NAISS to Swedish research, and also sends a strong message to our funding partners. We regret that we cannot meet everyone’s needs. However, one hour on the powerful Arrhenius processors is worth more than on the old systems”, says NAISS Allocations Director Peter Münger.

Both calls are now under review. Applicants will be notified of the results by email on 25 November. The allocation period starts on 1 January 2027.
