NAISS in partnership with Nvidia and the National Library of Sweden to train LLMs
NAISS will partner with Nvidia and the National Library of Sweden to support the development of Swedish state-of-the-art large language models (LLMs), with a specific focus of achieving sovereign AI capabilities and accelerate enterprise AI adoption among Swedish industries.

NAISS will support the compute training and inference requirements, while Nvidia will provide software and technical expertise. The collaboration was initiated by NAISS and Linköping University (LiU) together with KBLab, a national research infrastructure under the National Library of Sweden which is developing language models and working with AI.
WARA Media and Language Project Manager Johanna Björklund and LiU Professor Fredrik Heintz will also take part, along with several research groups across Sweden.
“This is a great example of the advances made possible by critical investments in the Berzelius supercomputer funded by Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, and Love Börjeson’s outstanding AI research environment at the National Library of Sweden. My hope is that the broader collaboration with WASP and Nvidia will produce continuously updated state-of-the-art language models fine-tuned for Swedish, and support important research on trust and reasoning for LLMs,” says Erik Lindahl, Professor at Linköping University and NAISS Director.
