New allocation structure introduced with NAISS Large Fall 2025 call

23 September 2025

With the NAISS Large Fall 2025 call we are introducing a new structure for NAISS allocation rounds. From now on, users may apply for all types of NAISS resources (compute, storage, sensitive data) in a single proposal. NAISS will no longer have separate application rounds per resource type.

This new setup will affect all application rounds from 1 January 2026 – not only Large, but also Medium and Small.

“The main reason for this is that a significant number of our users require compute resources that are tightly connected to storage. Now they can request both in one single proposal, which facilitates the application procedure,” says Peter Münger, Chair of the NAISS Allocations Committee Working Group, NAC-WG.

Another new feature is that resources dedicated to sensitive data can now be applied for in our Large rounds.

“Large proposals for sensitive data resources will now be processed in the same way as proposals for large compute and storage resources, meaning they will undergo scientific reviews and be decided by NAC,” says Peter Münger.

Deadline for proposals is 16 October.
