Fall 2025 Large and LUMI calls: 41 applications approved under new structure
8 December 2025
The National Allocations Committee (NAC) has held its meetings and decided about the NAISS Large and LUMI Sweden Fall 2025 allocations.
As usual, demand outstrips supply for most resources. These are the results:
NAISS Large (compute, storage and sensitive resources combined):
35 applications approved – 17 rejected
LUMI Sweden (our dedicated share of the Finnish LUMI supercomputer):
7 applications approved – 4 rejected
This was the first round with our new set-up where compute, storage, and sensitive data resources could be applied for together. For the first time it was also possible to apply for sensitive data resources in a large call.
“As a result of these changes we received fewer applications, but the amount of resources allocated is on par with last fall. In general, the new structure seems to have gone down well with users,” says Peter Münger, chair of the NAC working group.
Reasons for rejections and/or reduced allocations are primarily related to scientific quality and previous usage patterns. Also, in some cases, applicants have not been qualified to apply for the project type in question.
The estimated value of the resources allocated in this round is SEK50 million.
